In our everyday life there is always one thing each human does. Which is thinking. This action is used when you studying in school or while professor is giving lecture; when we want to buy something we think; even in small tasks such as driving, eating, walking, talking. So today being specific which is important in life an education. From the day we have entered school we are being taught on how to think. Every school needs to or can develop student’s ability to think. John Dewey author of the essay called “Thinking in Education” says, “Learning more about ourselves in the world” why this quote is crucial to thought and education. Second, why thinking is cut off from experience to some people. Third, most but not least what is the relationship between a student being given something to do and being given something to learn, and at last how Dewey defines the creative originality?

Giving the instructions by dividing them into the small parts such as learning the skills in reading, writing, grammar, quoting. Thinking is not connected with learning more about ourselves and the world we live in. In education while we think we are actually thinking on the proper topic, for example English class we think what rhetoric style has writer used. So, this is we learning related to the particular subject, it has nothing to do with our thought of life nor the world.

In his essay, Dewey says that in both philosophic theory and in educational practice thinking is cut off from experience. Most of the whenever we learn new things on our own that is called the experience of our life. So does it also apply to the thinking? Because we think on our own. Well it does look like truism, but it’s not. But how this can be true? Experience is trying to do something and having the thing perceptibly do something to one in return. The consequences of this could be that if the misconception would be that instructor might that assume that their student is experiencing the correct thing. So this is not a good idea to assume about someone without asking them the real thing.

What is the difference between student being given something to do and something to learn? The relationship between this two students would be that both will arise the thinking. But the difference will be that one student who is doing something will be doing the task based in knowledge he/she have, while on other side student who is given something to learn would actually be arising the questions while thinking. So student who is learning is actually using the critical thinking.

In addition to that, the definition for creative originality is recognizing that its measure lies in putting everyday things to uses which had not occurred to others. The example he has given was “The operation is novel, not the materials out of which it is constructed.”

Altogether, thinking is a process in everyday life most importantly in education. Developing the skills for reading and writing. Thinking is very important in experience of education. And to teach the student something they need to restrict to the resources as much as possible so that they can develop the ability in themselves to critically think. Creative originality is where we have originally created and have never created such a thing before. But to the world it isn’t new, but to our own it is new that’s called creative originality.
